Some really cute things come from China!

Live from the San Diego zoo--at least live yesterday. It took me quite a while to figure out how to post this. Hopefully we'll see a few pandas when we are in China.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere signs......

Get this. I said a prayer to God last week and asked Him to show me a sign if we were supposed to proceed with our adoption. We have been at this a very long time and there have been lots of roadblocks along the way. I finally said to self, "hey, maybe it's not meant to be." So I prayed to God and I said, "please God, if this is not in the cards, that is okay, I just need to know. If you do want us to adopt this little baby girl from China, please just show me a sign."

So get this.....I was driving to work when I said that prayer and I stopped at the Sheetz and went in. I almost never go into the Sheetz in the a.m. because I am always running late. If I stop, it is only to get gas and I pay with my ATM so there's no reason to go into the store. Anyway, that morning I was so thirsty I knew I would not make it to Harrisburg (another 20 miles) without a bottle of water. While I was in the Sheetz, I picked up the Sentinel (a local weekly paper). Note: I have not purchased a Sentinel in probably six months. Anyway, I drank the water and threw the paper onto the passenger seat. That night I took the paper into the house and started to read it. The front page headline read "I'd do it again in a heartbeat." The article was about Timothy and Joanne Foley, from Millersburg, PA (my hometown), who just adopted dear daughter number 2 from China. Tim was quoted in the article having said, "If you want to have the most positive experience in your life, this is what you want to do,..." It was a beautiful article.

Now, I am not the sharpest tack in the box, so I put the newpaper to the side for John to throw out with the trash. Driving to work the next day, it hit me!!!!! Holy Cow, that was the sign! Can you believe it took me over 24 hours for it to hit me?

So, I went to Mim and Fred's today (aka mom and dad) to pick up the 3.13.07 Sentinel -- that's the same edition that I had John toss with the trash. I will put this copy with my other journal notes for our little China baby. I think it is meant to be!!

Taiwan Referral

A friend and colleague at work just got her referral on the evening of March 14--little Sophia is two months old and was born in her heart in Taiwan. Talk about exciting! I am thrilled for her and her husband and, I must say, a bit envious!!!! I can't wait to see the referral photos.

Things are heating up in the cyber enviornment for people who have LIDs in December 05/January 06. All kinds of excel spreadsheets have been created to track the number of babies coming out of each "batch" with the goal being to project when we may get our referrals. I am thinking it will be August for the 1.12.06 LIDs. Travel would probably be in October. It my be that my colleague and I will be going for our babies at the same time. I sure hope she doesn't have to wait that long, though. Taiwan's process is a bit different so there's really no way to tell so say your prayers for her.

This house is a disaster area so I am stressed about what we will do with a child. We still have new drywall that's not painted, no fence around the pool, a porch that gets slippery when wet (we've both nearly killed ourselves a million times). I hope we get some good thoughts about what we're supposed to do PDQ. I think we may all move in with Auntie Vickie!!! ;0)
